Description
This nose panel was used on one of the two Porsche LMP1-98 prototype race cars developed by Porsche based on the TWR-developed WSC-95 chassis and campaigned in the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans. Featuring carbon-fibre-composite and Kevlar construction, the panel is finished in a white Mobil 1 livery and incorporates headlight buckets, air inlets, and electrical connectors.
The LMP1-98 was developed by Porsche using the two WSC-95 chassis that had previously been campaigned in privateer hands after being constructed between 1994 and 1995 on Tom Walkinshaw Racing’s Jaguar XJR-14 monocoque chassis. Featuring redesigned bodywork, the two LMP1-98s started 9th and 20th for Porsche at Le Mans in 1998, but neither finished the race.
The panel measures approximately 78” wide and 52” deep.
